Things are 'RUFF!' all over.
So the kids really want a dog, and the wife has been surfing the web, scouring the local shelters to check out the availability and cost. I know how much I wanted a dog when I was a kid. I didn't get a dog until I hit high-school, at which point I no longer needed one. I know people who have had dogs all their life probably see this as a no-brainer decision, but the cost and work of having to care for an animal just seems like one more inconvenience at a moment in life when both time and money are being stretched to the limit. As a rational person weighing the pros and cons I just don't see a dog fitting into our life very well. As a father who loves his kids to death, I really want them to be able to have something I didn't have as a small boy... What to do, what to do...

This doodle is of a character for an illustrated book I had in mind... I have plenty of stories in mind that never seem to get finished, mostly for lack of being a writer. Still-born projects seem to be a bad habit of creative-types, especially if one tends to over-think everything or have a perfectionist streak.

MONKEYING AROUND

A couple of shots taken at Bellagio. The tarts seemed especially tempting, but at ten-billion dollars a bite I had to pass.

Another Edge of L.A. Con is right around the corner, so I figured I'd spiff up my presence with a small banner to hang in front of my table. This way people know I'm an artist and don't mistake me for a janitor who's just slacking on the job. This is sure to get 'em flocking to my table in droves, begging me to take their hard-earned coin... if not, at least I'll have a really cool sign.

TINY BUBBLES
Okay, so I decided to finish this after all.

I just had to share these pics. A buddy of mine took his boy, Jet, to the Comic Con and dressed him as Bat-Mite. Too cool! The other photo is of Jet wearing a onesie, on which I doodled a baby Bat-Man.
